Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Bhutan is geopolitically in South Asia and is the region’s second least populous nation after the MaldivesThimphu is its capital and largest city, while Phuntsholing is its financial center.

Day 1

Catch the flight to Bagdogra, details will be shared shortly and reach Bagdogra at around 4 pm, depending on your flight.  Our escort will be waiting for you with a car at the Bagdogra airport.  We will leave for Bhutan today itself.  It is a drive of around 7 hrs.  We will have lunch, tea and Dinner enroute to Bhutan.  We will reach Phuentsholing.  Check in the hotel around 10 pm.  Visa will be stamped the next day.

Day 2

Morning after having your entry permit you will be transferred to Thimphu, the capital city of the Kingdom Bhutan.  Since Visa stamping takes a long time out here as everything is manual, we will need to be early for the visa.  Please respect Bhutan and their culture.  No smoking and its a crime out in Bhutan.  No sitting on top of the cars, as these activities are considered as crime there.  Its a very peaceful and beautiful place to be in.

Day 3

Local sightseeing in and around the smallest capital city of the world Thimphu which includes - Memorial Chorten, Emporium House, National Library, Handicraft Centre, Cherry Monastery, BBC Tower, SAARC Building & Bhutans Secretariat The famous Dzong etc. Overnight at your hotel at Thimphu.

Day 4

Today you will be covering one of the most beautiful destination of the country, Punakha. On the way you will visit the Simtokha Dzong (Sangkak Zabdhon), the Palace of the Profound Meaning of Secret Mantras. Overnight stay at Punakha. Punakha (The administrative centre of Punakha dzongkhag), one of the 20 districts of Bhutan. Punakha was the capital of Bhutan and the seat of government until 1955, when the capital was moved to Thimphu. It is about 72 km away from Thimphu and it takes about 3 hours by car from the capital Thimphu.Dochula pass - you can see the Himalayas from here. Chimni Lhakhang Temple - Temple of Fertility.  Suspension Bridge. Later in the afternoon visit the beautiful Punakha Dzong located at the confluence of the Pho-chu and Mo-chu river.

Day 5

Morning transfer to picturesque Paro. Paro District is the name of a district (dzongkhag), valley, river and town (population 20,000) in Bhutan. It is one of the most historic valleys in Bhutan. Both trade goods and invading Tibetans came over the pass at the head of the valley, giving Paro the closest cultural connection with Tibet of any Bhutanese district. The dominant language in Paro is Dzongkha, the national language.Paro contains the only active international airport in Bhutan, the Paro Airport, a beautiful small green-roofed facility in a valley, served only by Drukair (Bhutan's National Airline) from India and some other countries in Southeast Asia."

Day 6

After breakfast hike to Taktsang Monastery. Perched on a cliff-top, Bhutan's Taktsang monastery, also known as the Tiger's Nest, is one of the most breathtaking temples in the world. The Buddhist place of worship is built on a rock around 3,000m (10,000ft) above sea level. The main temple complex was built in 1692 and is considered to be one of the holiest for the Bhutanese people. There are no proper roads and visitors have to trek for 2 hours to reach the temple. In the afternoon visit the ruins of the 17th Century Drukgyel Dzong, the historic monument built to commemorate the victory against invading Tibetans in 1644.

Day 7

Back to Phuentsholing after an awesome experience.  In the evening if time permits, then you can have a good hot stone bath.

Day 8

Its time to bid goodbye to the Land of Peace, Love and hefty mountains.  I am sure you would have fallen in love with the great picturesque surroundings and No Pollution, No Honking and No Littering Zone.  Yes, you can not pollute their environment.  Just drink in the peace this place has to offer and bid your goodbyes
